Our Story

The name “Yokayo” came from the Spanish Land Grant called Yokayo, which was made up of a diverse landscape of fertile valleys with rich soils, open meadows and coastal mountains with canyons of alders and chain ferns, oaks, pines and fir trees here in Mendocino County. The Pauli family has a deeply rooted history of farming grapes, pears and prunes as well as raising livestock in this diverse landscape.

With the inception of the Yokayo brand, our family introduced premium wines from our vineyards. We grow many varietals including Chardonnay, Sauvignon Blanc, White Riesling, Barbera, Cabernet Sauvignon, Grenache, Malbec, Merlot, Pinot Noir, Sangiovese, Syrah and Zinfandel.

Our family aspires to make wines that exhibit the characteristics of the varieties and the vineyards from which they come. We pride ourselves in crafting high-quality wines. Our wines are meant to be shared and to bring people together.

We remain committed to innovation in our vineyards and winery while honoring traditions that will make the wines, the land, and the business sustainable, secure its heritage and create a legacy for the next generations to come.

Yokayo makes wines with passion, experience and intention. We have our hands and hearts in every stage of producing these excellent wines. Our family invites you to experience Yokayo wines.
